    Private sale all the way.

Did you make any effort to market the property yourself as well?

So much info there I could just shit. What were you selling? How was it priced compared to similar properties? Was it in good condition or a shithole?

We've used them before and had 1 success and 1 no sell. The no sell is a rental property in an area where the housing market is stale all around, so it's not a big surprise

Also, how the hell did you spend $3000 with them? We spent $600 for a lifetime ad

Sounds like someone looking for people to join in on an anti property guys crusade.

    Or a Realtor (jokes) (kindof)

Nice spam. There are no unforeseen fees nor costs with property guys. You pay them money and then they list it. The rest is up to you. That's very clear from the start.

I am commenting on my experience with Property Guys this morning.
I have a rental property that I am selling in Newmarket, Ontario. I listed it on kijiji 2 days ago.
Within a few hours I received a call from Property Guys asking me to meet with someone from Property Guys. I agreed to meet with them.
I specifically instructed them NOT to go to the property for sale, as it is a rental property. I carefully gave them my home address.
They confirmed by EMAIL showing the details of my HOME address as the place where the person would come to meet with me at 9 a.m. this morning. They seemed very organized and careful up to that point.

I received a call from my Tenant at 9:03 p.m. this morning informing me that someone from Property Guys had just knocked on their door and informed them they were there for their 9 a.m. meeting with me.

I am very angry that Property Guys did not care enough to ensure my Tenants would not be disturbed.

I will never use Property Guys. That is my first and last experience with them.

I beg to differ.....the only thing they don't do is show your house and from what heard they will be offering that option in the near future.

We want to sell our house, privately, in Westmount, near the Halifax Shopping Centre ( a true gem on the peninsula). How do you come up with the correct/valid price? We checked Viewpoint and found that houses here sell for 15% more than assessed value. We added that to our assessed value and a few bucks for bargaining room but still wondering... Also we are in no big rush and have some people asking what we want. Don't want to scare people off but don't want to sell too low.

So you want realtor advice but don’t want a realtor? Okay.

Yes exactly! I'm going to throw a number at the folks and see how interested they are. Then we can work it from there. This area is popular and some places have ended up having bidding wars (I probably won't be that lucky!).

There are a lot of factors as to why assessments might vary that it won't be practical for you to just throw 15% on top of that as a ballpark. Focus on the sale prices of comparable properties that you can find on viewpoint. Most agents will do a CMA from the comps in your area and use that start.
